Default Chip install

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been on here but I've got another sapphire cossie 2wd, it's running a stage1 at the moment and I want to go to stage 3,
I've put a new t34.48, 803's, 044 pump and rewire loom, I still need to put a 3 bar map sensor, -34 actuator and a msd 340 chip, I've always used power engineering in the past to install the chip and actuator and do the set up but I've just spoken with them and they no longer do rolling road tuning so I decided to give atspeed in Essex a try but they won't fit the chip and other bits, they want me to do this, my question is how easy or difficult is it to install the chip and will it be safe to drive the car to get it set up bearing in mind that all the settings will be wrong.
I'm in south London so it's quiet a journey to get to them but I don't know of any other closer,
Many thanks in advance for any help given,
