How do I tell what board I have, here's a pic of mine, is it standard, Weber, I know its not a Pectel board

and why is the chip using a adapter between it and the board?

I believe yours is a L8 green label with a std Ford babyboard. The chip from MSD is plugged into an adapter that is used for encryption so nobody can copy the chip. Last week I asked the same question to MSD as I have exactly the same ECU with MSD chip and this is what they told me.

That be where my problem lies, I bought the ecu as you see it, chip live mapped for 440 using a T38.63 w/83lb injectors, air injector boost control, BD14. I didn't want to break engine in with it so I bought a stage one chip for yellows. When I plugged in the chip(to MSD adapter) upon turning the ignition on #2 injector starts to clicking for 10-20 sec. I think that I need to remove the MSD part and try straight to baby board, but use standard anal valve.

Many thanks for all the help. Fired right up with adapter removed..learned something new today.

New problem...upon taking the MSD adapter out, I bent two of the gold pins, needless to say they don't straighten, they broke off. Will need to fix for the future.

Stu, how do I go about getting another or having this one repaired?
