Default Sierra Mk2 - Brake & Suspension

Hello out there,

I just bought a Sierra Mk2 2.0 R4 DOHC with 120HP, with drums on the rear end.

As the car is in rather rough shape, as the previous owner obviously didnt take as much care, as I would do, the car needs a refresh and therefore I am looking into getting some new parts for the car.

Which involves a complete new set of brakes and suspension, however here is my question.. What would I need in order to do a drums to disc conversion, as well as what brake kits are good, that doesn't cost 800$+?

I want the brakes to be somewhat sporty, so it can take some beatings, but also do good braking.
Further more, I am also looking into suspension, I have yet to decide whether or not I will go over to Gas or Coilovers, or just stay on Oil, as I'd like to have comfort on the car.

However I'd like to see the choices I have, with bushings, and what not, that will fasten up the car.

Dunno if there is a site out there, as I am rather new to Ford.

Overall, thanks for reading and any possible help!

Easiest thing to do would be fit a Cosworth rear beam/diff? Gives you rear discs and a limited slip diff.

I will bolt up no problem, if your not fussed about the LSD then just find a rear disc Sierra and you cantake the brake servo & MC too.

And brakes that are good but cheap - mk3 Mondeo calipers, st170 discs with a little spacer - but again you'll have to upgrade the master cylinder & servo, the drum brake Sierra's have smaller MC & servo.

Some say they get away with it but most say it's spongy and shit.

If you want comfort inthe chassis then don't go mad with poly bushes and coil overs are probably not for you but I would recommend gas struts by Bilstein, but depends if you are fitting lower ride height springs?

What I were thinking, was mostly somewhat inbetween comfort and sporty, hence why I might be looking at poly bushes
