Dash Mounted Tablet / PC on Sapphire Dashboard
Hi Readers
I would like to mount a tablet to fit in the area under the center dash vents where there's either the tape holder/clock/info display etc.
Has anyone pulled this installation successfully whereby it looks professionally mounted?
I want to be able to remove it easily & safely to use.
Also in later stage to run a monitoring management app or program on various outputs of the vehicle. It also needs to serve the purpose of in car entertainment and GPS system. Connect to Web as well and be able to update. Gotta be Wifi and blue tooth enabled.
Any Ideas or Suggestions?
Cheers

I'm planning on something similar.

think I'm going to set it up with my old galaxy s3 on a temporary bracket mounted in front of the clock. And leave my alpine in place doing the sound. The android display will normally just run gauges fed from the ECU. If it works well and I actually use it I may look at doing something more permenant.

Thanks Fraser. It looks interesting. There would need to be some careful wiring involved.
Also what hardware would you need to link up with the ECU to talk to the Tablet?

Nothing with Adaptronic. I was planning using a bluetooth to serial converter but I believe usb otg is now supported, so just a simple usb cable.
the audio side is fairly straightforward too. Have a read through this
