Ok people bit of help required here please as my electrical knowledge is limited

Car - 1986 3dr sierra cosworth

Currently going through wiring loom before it gets put into car after restoration and have come across this

First picture is of a relay causing my headaches at the moment, I have no idea what its meant to control as searching on the internet just brings up all sorts, 2 of the wires out of it seem to be melted together so at some point theres been a major electrical fault, can anyone point me in right direction as to what these wires are controlling at all

Picture 1 - the relay in question

Picture 7 - this is where the damaged brown wire leads to, also first of the undamaged brown/black wires ends up here

Picture 8 - 2nd undamaged brown/black wire from relay ends up here

Picture 9 - the 3rd undamaged brown/black wire finishes here (abs?) This uses the same pin from the relay block as picture 8 and can be seen exiting the relay block on the right hand side of picture 2

Does anyone have any ideas on what these wires actually are and what could of caused the short, also where can I get hold of replacement connections

Any help appreciated thanks

goto wiring section and see where the 5 wire colurs are , you can use as reference.
the yellow wire maybe 12v live from battery, ignition live or an earth .

going by piccys I'll take a guess its ignition live wire.
