cosworth 4x4 rev counter its broke me !!!!!1
(Fixed)
right its broke me now i need help
been looking at my rev counter looked all over this sight for an answer but still cant work it out why my rev counter wont work
this is what i have got
4x4 cosworth 1992 running wasted spark
it has a secs computer in and that has a rev counter on it as well
cant see anything wrong with the rev counter itself all looks good the rev counter on the secs computer is working fine it has had the msd mod to the back of the rev counter and the green wire under the bonnet are connected i get the same voltage there as i do under the dash about 0.5 volts at idle going up with the revs
need to know what voltage should i get at the green wire on the connecter at the clocks
and if its not working right why am i getting a reading on my secs computer
could it stop the revcounter on thedash working
help its driving me mad
cheers darryl
p.s. sorry for the essay

Have you spoke to msd?
Originally rev counter is from the coil which you no longer have . I am sure this is quite common.. Give them a call they are good and will help you..

I had a similar problem with mine when i first had wasted spark, mine turned out to be a problem with part of the wasted spark board, I've circled the part that was faulty, it had overheated, have a look at yours to see if the insulation has cracked on it, if it has i would speak to msd

rev counter broken wasted spark (fixed)

thought i would update this tread
i finally pulled my finger out and got round to sorting this as karl pointed out it was the component that had failed
spoke to msd and they sent me one for free (twice as i lost the first one )
soldered it in and bosh working
thanks for the help and to stu at msd for his fantastic customer service
