Default Fuel Pipe leakage

Hi,

had a heavy petrol smell under the hood and found the problem. There is a leakage at the pvc connection peace from the steel line to the silicone fuel line which connects to the fuel rail.

Can I remove the pvc piece and just plug the silicone fuel hose to the steel pipe?

Here is a pic

I would use a high pressure fuel hose.
