crank case vacuum !?
Hi,
Can anyone give me some advice please.
When my 4x4 engine is running and i pull the hose from the crank case breather to the air-filter housing, i sense a vacuum comming out of the crank case??? When i block the hose, the oil filler cap firmly sticks to the valve cover.
The engine doesn't run that great on low rpm, it does well on high rpm.
The exhaust fumes do smell bad but no oil vapor is detected.
It needs regular oil filling, more than the usual 1 litre every 1000 km.
Tuning the CO-level is a bit of a challenge...
My belief is that the piston rings are OK, no blow-by into the crank case obviously but that the problem needs to be found in the head...
Any suggestions are appreciated
Thanks,
Marc - Belgium

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
You want a vacuum in the engine , for example a dry sump makes more internal negative presure which helps the engine and a good n/a dry sumped engine will be totally sealed , but I can't see a std pump pulling negertive presure
