new alternator!
I think my alternator is dead i have to keep recharging my battery every week as it eventually goes flat.
I want a top of the range brand new alternator to install that has a high ampage recharging figure.
Can anyone make any suggestions?
Many thanks and all the best!

Yes make sure your battery is ok first otherwise you are just wasting your money.
The fact that the battery goes flat may not even be the alternator, a 102 amp alternator will not charge continuously at 102 amps, a normal max charge rate wil be around 50/60% of the rated maxium, as they get hotter they put out less, and they get hot when given too much work to do, this is the reason with a(totally)flat battery you should ideally recharge it first not just jump it and go.
A ford cossie alternator that peaks at 90 amps, is just that a peak, if it did this for more than a few seconds it would start blowing things internally.
Unless you are doing little 3/4 mile trips with all lights on each time, thje std alt and battery will be fine, other wise first try a larger 097 battery, as this will give you more reserve.
