Hi, i was wondering if there is any difference in the bare bodyshell of a standard 1.6L sierra from 1986 or a cosworth of 1986.

I was led to believe there was a reinforcing plate behind the master cylinder and a few holes were different in the bulkhead due to loom, but other than that think it is the same, would be interested to know if any other differences.

If you have december 2005 fast ford mag a lad in there reshelled his 3 door cossy into a normal 3 door shell and it says that the sunroof is different and the gearbox cradle has to be moved

the gearboxtunnel is narrower. But can still take a T5 with a homemade cradle.

I thought Cossie shells were strengthened from the original, because the standard shell scrunched up too much when crashed.

I'm not doubting what anyone's said above, but it's weird how these tales (if untrue) get around

hahaha thanks guys, i'm now convinced that i won't reshell my 3door. I'll buy a standard sierra anyhow, but thats for some parts as headlight, bootlit, doors etc. to restore my 3door.

cheers,
