I'm trying to remove the centre console/arm rest, all the screws are out but it won't quite clear the handbrake & the front part won't quite clear the dashboard where the ashtray is. I've removed these plenty of times from my 3dr from memory without any snags Anyone got any ideas, do i have to remove anything extra on the 4x4 ,its almost out but if i force it anymore it will snap

Do u not have 2 slacken the hand brake leaver so that it will clear.

Put your foot on the brake hard, pull the handbrake lever as far as you can with the pedal pushed. This will give you enough clearance to remove the centre-console. It will still be tight, but should clear okay. I have to do this when I take mine out, and it is a royal nightmare.

I found it easier to remove the lower dash

Remove or at least loosen the passenger side lower dash - I now have a Sierra (luckily not the Cossie!) that has a handbrake that won't release because I was lazy, and the centre console never came off

The centre console reaches under the dash too far to bend it without breaking it.
