Hello I have a Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec Ghia Estate, took it out today as son has been using it for short journeys to his work. Engine idles fine, revs smoothly when stationary, Accelerates fine in 1st and 2nd but in third as the revs are put on starts juddering and hunting after 2800 revs and I think around 40MPH. Then when in 5th no problems and smooth up until you try and accelerate starts hunting and juddering and then decelerates the harder you accelerate!!!

Also going up a hill loses all power so you are crawling up at 20-30MPH and does not like it if you try and change down and accelerate as well.

It has recently had new leads and plugs

I was thinking new air filter and poss fuel filter any other thoughts that may help get this fixed want to keep it quite cheap.
