I have an alloy RS 500 spec intercooler which i initially bought for a rwd saff. Thinking of fitting it to a large turbo escort. A mate of mine told me that the standard escort coolers are better. Any ideas folks ?

ive heard that upto about 330 hp, the std setup works just aswell as the 500 setup, its only over 350 that you will need the better cooling of the 500.

2wd 500 cooler will not fit escort.it can be made to fit but you would be beter off puting it on ebay and buying new one

Cheers guys, Brother is an aluminium welder, if it was a case of just moving the brackets i could get it sorted. I could always swop it for an escort one from where i bought it.

in what way is a 2wd 500 cooler different?

from memory they sit a little higher up in the engine bay and cooler pipes sit a bit different and mounts are angled different too
