Dump valve on T25 Escort
I want to place a dump valve on my T25 escort.
Now I've bought a Bailey dump valve fitting kit. FK 12.
This kit arrived today
See pic:
But I saw another fitting kit, that's diffent, it got a blanking plate and mine doesn't have that.
See pic: (the Red plate that's the one I mean)
Do both kit's work the same? (all good or not)
I saw that the one dump valve that's recommend is for the T25 escort, is the DV 26 (from Bailey).
Does a DV 24 not work? And are the any other DV's who work as good as the DV 26?
Thnx

it doesnt need a recic one at all, just ove that does open at idel due to vac of the engine and let air in bypassing the MAF sensor - you need a twin piston type - similar to rsturbo.
the std small turbo escos has a recirc one built into the turbo thats what the blanking plate is for in the second pic, so you can relocate it nearer the throttle body - but TBH - ive removed mine altogether - you do get sick of the PSHHHHH all the time

If you don't use a recirculating type dump valve then metered air is vented to atmosphere. This will throw out the fuel and spark calculations, albeit fleetingly, not good IMO.

Thats why you need the Piston not a normal Dump valve.I've got the one recommend on the bailey site for the small turbo, they should know what works hopefully.
The recirculating type is just quieter thats all, it doesn't vent to atmosphere.
As Dave said the blanking plate covers the hole left by the standard one.The kit moves the dump valve to the cold side of the intercooler for reliability, apparantly.

Both fitting kits do the same. Instead of the blanking plate, the other fitting kit uses a metal piece (in the center of the small blue hose in your picture) to replace the spring inside the standard dump valve to keep it closed.
However, if I were you I would listen to sailorbob and keep the standard dump valve.
