Wiring Loom
Hi guys
i have decided to rebuild my mk 3 escort with a 2.o l silvertop zetec engine using megasquirt for the engine management so i got that side of things sussed
i only want to be using the car for track days and some fast road use (within speed limits though)
so i have decided for the rebuild i only want the shell no extra junk ie interior
So now for the bit i need to know the wiring loom weighd a tonne so i ripped it all out and i have decide to make a new one but with only the wires needed ie lights wipers horn etc ne extra stuff like speakers interior lights haters etc etc.
i was just wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram so i dont have to go off and design one from scratch
cheers
matt
Ps i will try and get some pics of the project up as i go along

get a car loom from a carbed engined mk3, it won't have the engine loom, so that cuts a load out str8 away. You'll be building your own loom for the zetec anyway just using ignition lives, permanent lives and fuel pump feeds etc.
then get a haynes for mk3-4 escy, get all the insulation tape off the loom and take out what you don't need. takes ages to split a loom though, cos of all the shared earths and things you'll need to cut.
then just re-tape it, or if you're that concerned about the weight, just use some small zip ties to keep the loom in loom form. Use one about every 8 inches and around joins, junctions etc and if all the wires are uniform length and clean of all the sticky stuff, it'll be fine.
