Default Fat Loss Diets & Muscle

Another quick question...

Right, just to set the scene, I'm 6'3" and a bit, and weigh 13st 5lbs

I don't know what my body fat % is, but doubt it's all that high

I've gained quite a bit of weight in the past 6 months, the vast majority of it is good, but I want to go on a "Cutting" diet or something similar now as I want a completely flat gut.

As it is, my stomach has grown a bit over the the past few months, and I wanna trim it down as I have good abs underneath it

Thing is, I'm paranoid that if I go on a diet to lose a bit of weight, I'll undo some of the good gains in the muscle department

I'd really like to seriously cut the carbs down for a while, and am tempted by something along the lines of the Atkins Diet. Is that a feasible option with my training? One one hand, I guess I'm going to need carbs for the energy to train, and most "cutting" diet examples seem to still have a fair few carbs in them. So do I rely on plenty of medium carb veg for this? Do I stick to pasta and rice? Or do I go all out on cutting the carbs aside from energy drinks for the training?

I mean, the Atkins Diet is very high protein, which would seem to be a bonus for muscle growth, but does the lack of cars make it unviable in my situation?

I fancy something that will get rid of any flab as quickly as possible so I know how hard/easy it is, how long it takes etc for future reference, and then go back to bulking for the time being
