2004 Focus ST170 low mileage: Quaife/ Eibach/ Bilstein
An honest, low mileage 2004 Ford Focus ST170 that has been well-cared for and mildly modified, retaining 100% stock engine and appearance. Would be an excellent daily-commuter, or track-day base.
I bought this car in 2011 to hillclimb in a production saloon class. Hence it has done negligible miles since, but has enjoyed extensive service and updates. Current mileage is 67,000. It has never been 'tracked' or abused and has good history. Its first stop when I acquired it was at a Ford dealer for an extensive service that included a timing belt change and new hardline brake pipes. Since, it has also had new rear brake calipers and a further recent service and battery.
Engine and bodywork are 100% standard. But.....
The car is fitted with a complete Bilstein/ Eibach suspension package consisting of lowered progressive springs, bigger anti-roll bars and gas dampers. The rear subframe was removed, blasted, 2-packed and reinstalled with full Superpro bushes and adjustable arms that provide varaiable rear camber and castor geometry. That's a £1,000 of bits.
The gearbox is installed with a Quaife ATB limited-slip differential. The dreaded dual-mass flywheel has been swapped for a Clutchmasters billet alloy flywheel and Stage 3 clutch pack. And it is constrained with a CFM billet dogbone and a Vibra-Technics engine mount. That's another £2000 of bits.
Wheels have been refurbished and are in good condition with just a couple of marks. These are fitted with Kumho Ecsta V70A soft-compound tyres, although a couple of them wont last much longer.
Bodywork is straight, although the clearcoat has chips and scratches consistent with the car's age. There are some bubbles under the paint around the arches, and one small ding (shown) on the rear hatch from a previous owner dropping a ladder on it in the garage.
The car's interior is nice, unmarked and has the usual ST170 goodies including half-leather, climate control air conditioning, six-CD sound system and 'proper' mats. There are also HID headlights, mudflaps and Climair wind deflectors.
Lots of history and invoices, and with two keys. But it is now taking up valuable project space and I need to sell the car. It can be viewed in central Edinburgh by arrangement.
Yours for a firm £1,700. PM me here to view or for more pics.
