Smile Mk5 Fiesta alloy sizes

Hi All,

I have a 2000 1.25 LX (one of the best for the year I think) and it has the old 13" steel wheels atm. Does anyone know if I can use Borbet 14" Alloys - stud diameter of 108, 38 offset, 6j rim width?

If so, as long as the stud size is 108 can I just stick on most tyres up to 16" rim size?

Cheers,

Nick

Is say you'll be fine with the wheels you mention. studs the same. offset is only 3 mm out. All depends on the size of the tyre

Haha - yes could do - but my concern is that the wheels still turn....

I also need to put the white racing stripe on it.

On another not, I was on Parkers and my 11 year old 1.25 has a 0-60 of about the same as a 3 year old 1.6 focus... Nuts!

They'll fit fine with some 185 55 14 tires.

I'm running 16x 7 et25 ( that's low) with 195/45/16 and there ok.

Hardly a surprise considering the size and weight bonus your car has!

Will be fine.
As its a non zetec s shell you may have to roll the rear arches ( zetec s are rolled from the factory)

I had a 1.25 track car with a puma lump.

That was down 80mm on 195/45/16 tires and didn't rub.

Thanks, Im trying to avoid rolling the arches because the paint on the back isnt very healthy. Could i go to say 30mm without any arch work on some 195/45/16 et 41.5

Ok. Well mine a freestyle not a zetec s so obviously has less clearence. Could i blind buy 30mm or 40mm lowering springs or to be safe shud i fit the alloys first. Im worried 41.5 et are going to sit too far into the car. Is fittin 5mm spacers a good idea or not?

Just try it on. Mine was a 1.25 freestyle shell.

The only bit that rubbed even with 8j wheels was the tear bumper hanger

Hi, long time no post. My fiesta is looking nice and wanted to know if fitting some 6mm front and 10mm back universal spacers would be a bad idea.. Finding hub spacers at these sizes prove tricky and expensive.

for the front upto 10mm on std wheels works well and rears you can go to 20.5mm but I would go with axle spacers on rear not spacers and they only cost around £28

I have some mk7 titainum wheels on 6.5j 41.5 et so poke a tiny bit more than standard wheels is a universal 10mm spacer safe without lengthening the bolts? I never have any real weight in the car. The bolts from a mk7 would, i assume be stronger due to the mk7 fiesta being heavier

I think any spacer over 3mm really you need to lengthen bolts on a fez, I dont trust universal spacers period, they either need to be a solid disc type or hubcentric style minimum for safety

plenty of decent companys out there just stay away from halfords and the like, heres one company http://www.performancealloys.com/whe...ers-shims.aspx but no doubt others have different recommendations, also have bought them from burton power before too which were really good quality http://www.burtonpower.com/wheel-spa...hick-spt5.html
