18''s, offsets and sapphires

got an idea for some wheels for my sapph, but they will need pcd adaptors. got some offset options on the wheels, but either way, with 20mm adaptors, they will end up et15 or et25.
on an 18x8 rim, would these fit on a sapph lowered 25mm on ahmed springs? what tyre size would be best to run?

cheers
Dave

on the 2wd cars it's not so much of an issue, but it is on the 4wd cars where the front arches tend to get stuffed too much and cause issues

Bloomers Dec 15, 2010 05:17 PM

there a reason for that? theres not massive difference between the two in ride hieght, or offset at the hub, is there?

dojj Dec 15, 2010 07:06 PM

the wheels will fit, but you have to fuck about with the offset as it's 8mm further out, which means the brakes need to be 8mm further out as opposed to the 2wd cars so your choice of rim is limited

ET25 will fit but you will have to run 215/35's to make reduce the chance of them catching the arch. I would imagine you will need to roll the front arches. Rears will be fine.

sounds like a try it and see job, then

will et 25 8x18 old skul mo's fit a 4x4 sapph using 215 35 tyres?

Bloomers Dec 31, 2010 11:59 AM

should do. same et as escos wheels. probably catch the arches a bit

You will be modding the arches with ET25, I would never normally use anything further out than an ET30 on the front of a Sapphire, ideally ET35.

Hi guys I just got a set of comps 17"x8" et40 would these fit on a 2wd saph ok ?

hanarchyrulez Jan 27, 2011 06:37 PM

i made a post a few days ago but have now drawn the conclusion that i maybe directed the question into the wrong forum....
What about the 18" OZ rims from the mk1 focus onto the RWD sapphire? 215/35/18s and is there maybe a chance of putting something sllightly wider on the rears? how low would you go on them?
