ET35 Wheels on a Mk1 Focus
How well would these wheels fit on a focus? I believe the foci's standard offset is ET42, would spacers be required? Offsets confuse me a bit

Don't do it!!!
ET35 if for Escorts and Pumas and the like.
You need a MINIMUM of ET42 (so ET42 or higher).......standard Ford alloys are around the ET52 mark to give you an idea, they are tucked right into the arches!
If you fit really low offset wheels then you really run the risk of the catching on teh inner lips of the front AND rear arches and, because of the extra distance between the tyre tread and the hubs, you will probably foul the inner arch liners on full lock, which is an instant MoT failure as well as being bad for tyres and arch liners!

Cheers again Dave I did myself a little drawing the other day and came to this conclusion... unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much in the way of decent second hand 17x8.5s at ET42+

See my post above.
8.5" wide wheels are a definite no-no........you will struggle with 8" wide wheels on the normal Focus!

The standard rims on a 2.0 look like the normal 15" focus wheels, but are actually 16" x 205 wide, just over 8 inches.

OH EXCUSE ME FOR BEEN COMPLETLY WRONG my standard st wheels are et 42 with standard 215/45 tyres rear and 225/40 front lowered 40mm and ony things that ever rub is mud flaps off the road on hard cornering. my old 2 litre had 17 et38 mondeo wheels fitted with 205/40s and never had any bother anything wider could have been problem though this is only my real life experince so i could be completly wrong

What tyre size have you got fitted and what suspension are you running?
I ran ET42 18 x 8's (same as Focus RS) with 215/35 tyres stretched on them, Koni adjustables (coilovers), Eibach anti roll bars AND Poly bushes and still got scrubbing front and rear over hard bumps.
I've also run ET37 17 x 7's with both 215/45 AND 215/40 tyres with the same setup (wound down the ride height a little bit more) and got rubbing on big bumps as well.
caprizetec - STANDARD ST170 wheels are ET49
Escow- Van - 2.0 litre 16" wheels may have 205 width tyres on them but they are only 6" wide and ET52.5 hence they are nowhere near the edges of the arches!

ET45 on 8x17's if you're on about a normal Focus, but if you're on about a Focus RS then ET35 will be fine and look much better than the standard ET42's. Anything wider than 8" and you should really consider coilover to allow more room and still keep the depth of wheel to wing.

ST150 17" 11spoke
Did anyone put these wheels on focus 1 ?
ET52.5 7J... I tried just the rims on the car and i see that there is a small gap of 7-8 to 10 mm betwwen the rim and the suspension...
i am so confused...relly don't know if they would fit....what doyou think ?!

Mate, from what I've gathered these would be perfect. I wanted to get some for mine, but thought they were a much lower offset. Frickin gutted now, although I do love my oz's

Duderacing---I believe you think that they are good for the focus...cause i see you got a Ka.
The only thing that concerns me are these spots ( see on the photo )
http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/8972/28239883.jpg
especially the lower one which is less than 8-9mm from the rim, where is supposed to be the tyre part that protects the rim...if i will not be able to fit the rims,it will be because of 1 or 2 mm...
I must say that i want to go for the 205/45/17 tyre size and if necessary i will not lower at all (i was hoping for 3,5mm...)

I don't think the bottom spot on the hub carrier will be of any concern, as it should move with the wheel, staying in the same position relative to the wheel.
The upper spot on the shock absorber, would make me try to simulate the suspension travel with the wheel on.
Or, if you can measure your standard wheel's gap to this point when raised on jack, then again when it is on the floor, to see what direction the wheel moves in relation to the shock.
I wouldn't have spacers unless absolutely neccessary either. Looking forward to seeing them on.

37 offset means that the whole wheel moves to the arch for 12 mm comparing to the ST 170 wheels...so i believe that you are gonna catch the arches with lots of rubbing...
Google it a little more and see if someone used these dimensions.
I hope that i am wrong,but i think that you'll rub...

I'm Finding My Feet Here Now
Believe me....i've googled it like crazy. Other foruns, some in the USA, where the users run with ET35, say that's ok until there, below that, it's crazy rubbing and the arches need to be flared! This is, about 17x7J wheels!!

I know some guys that even with the ST wheels rub at the focus 1.6 (lowered by only 3.5mm and at our bad greek roads when allmost fully loaded).
I am allmost sure that you will rub.
My advise is that if you are gonna try to fit these wheels at any cost, you should try 205/45 (or 205/40 if you are too lowered) and nothing more than that. You should also pick some tires with little overall width(such as Hankook(like Ventus V12),Bridgestone etc and not something like Continental or michelin wich has a bigger one) so you could gain some extra mm milimeters.
If i'll find out what happens with the 37offset,i am gonna inform you.
Good luck! !

Focus low and large
Hi Guys, After being away from the modding scene i am back with a new focus. This is no 3. Help is required for rims? I have recently lowered it on shocks and springs 50mm and set up the front and rear tracking back to original settings, now its time for some rims do 8 x 16s go on? My previous one had 7 x 17s Kahns and was lowered 50mm with no issues apart from the front mud flaps but this time i fancy the euro look. Any help would be greatly appreciated, pics will follow its a gold 3dr quite unusual.

The 2nd ones look good on an RS Turbo, not so much on a Focus. Had some as temp wheels on my old Focus while my multispokes were being refurbed. Go for the 1st ones.
As for rough guide, here's a few of mine with different wheels. Got the FRS pics too....
7X17 ET40 with 205/40/17
8x17 ET45 with 215/40/17
8x18 ET33 with 225/40/18 (but on Cossie running gear so the measurements are slightly different)

I have recently bought used Ford Focus MK1 kombi 2002 1.8B GHIA. It has now 14" rims with 47.5 ET and it looks ugly with it. I may buy used rims with parameters:
Borbet
CF 75630 K2
7,5Jx16H2 Si11
Lk 108 (4x108)
Et 35
Will they fit my car? I dont want them to stand outside from the body. I want them to fit exactly with the body line of my car or a little bit hidden (but as little as it has to be). I am not able to fit the rims before buy because I will buy them over internet. Present owner said that they have beed used on Ford Focus MK1 2003 Hatchback. Another choice can be - Ford 16 1/2 J x 16H2 ET 40.
Which will be better / safer choice.
Thank You for any help and sorry for my poor English.
