Matching MFI ecu's/looms. Help please

I bought a 90 spec rs turbo for the running gear for an xr2, i then decided not to go ahead with the conversion, sold the loom and ecu's.

Now i want to use the engine for another xr2, need to replace the loom and ecu's but not sure which ones i need :?

The engine came out of a 90 escort rs turbo and has the knock sensor on the inlet, can anyone tell me which are the right ecu's to run with this ???

Thanks in advance

IF ITS A 90 SPEC ENGINE THEN U'LL NEED A HEARTS AND DIAMONDS ECU AND MOST LATER MODEL LOOMARE THE SAME U JUST NEED ONE WITH THE GREEN KNOCK SENSOR MULTI PLUG ON !!!

You can also run the colour coded ECU's, even series 1 ecu's will work, they all use the exact same wiring, HOWEVER if you use series 1 ECU's they will not take readings from the knock sensor, and the igniton module doesnt read from the secondary coolant temperature sender. (not all series 2's have these anyway for some reason??)

By the way ive just traced through the wiring diagrams on both a series 1 & 2 to confirm the wiring compatibility before i posted this :top:

hearts and diamonds ecu is the 89 - 90 spec one so if your cars a 90 spec then that would be the one to get!! first if not as said above blue red black etc ... but u wi'll need a knock sensor ecu as thats what its for !
