Yo Techi's TIME TO SHOW OFF

Have a £990 Vehicle: FORD FIESTA 1.4I (94-95) SI 5DR
, my issue is the thick oil coverage under the cam housing on the subframe and surounding area in the engine bay.. thick gunge.. My first thought was; over time its built up... but it looks like a problem that's bee missed by me buying the car in the wet on sunday just past

The car runs well, not hot but just 1/3rd on the level, oil looks warn, soft; not gritty to the touch

Engine bay was not steamed, showed real signs of being original

Seller was TRADE and seemed ok to me.. one wheel baring changed and a new exhaust, tyre replaced on wheel that had a baring change, as you would expect..

oily residue dripping off bottom of sump, but no real evidence of a leak, or broken gassketttt!!!!!

Before I get stuck in is there a known FORD check list of issues for this model, given its age, or is it a STEAM CLEAN and see where the oil is coming from..

Hope you can help...

JaJa

Dripping from under the CAM WHEEL..and back ofr the sump, but this is just residue from wheel area... spitting all the way under the car to the back of the car on the underside...... tell me I'm in for a big £££ and I will cry for sure...

Never buy a car in the rain...

Don't tell me, DO NOT PASS GO; Just pay pay pay pay....

SO I will keep it topped up for sure.. HELP!!! What should I expect to PAY!!! :cry2:

depends, what are you calling the cam wheel? do you mean the flywheel or cam cover,

if its just the cam cover the gasket is only about a tenner and they go all misshaped when they get oil on them, so if someone has had the cam cover off, they would be very lucky to get it back on and not disturb the rubber gasket, could be this...
