1997 Ford Escort Bertone Cabriolet ECU Advice
So, to cut a long story short, I have been working on a friends 1997 1.6 silver top escort, we had a lot of problems including engine head change etc but eventually got there. The owner had misplaced the red key (master key) long ago, but had one of the slave keys and managed to lose it! We tore the house apart etc but it never turned up. The car has to stay as a 1.6 and it needs as cheap a solution as possible. he has brought new keys, but obviously the transponder doesn't match the JEEP ecu it has fitted. I did some research through several threads, found the list that gave the ECU types without PATS incorporated and purchased a HAWK ecu from Romania, When the ECU is fitted, the PATS light doesn't flash. It still doesn't start, but it does give the three beeps when turned off. My question is, do I have the wrong info and the HAWK ecu does have PATS fitted, Does it not have PATS fitted and I have to rewire the ECU plug (if so how and is there a wiring diagram showing differences) or am I just wasting time. Jay? Anyone? Help!

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Different hardware codes are wired different.
solution, another Jeep ecu with matching keys.
or being a 97 it should be obd2 so look at Forscan, plenty of info on here
