Coil on plug conversion

Hi,

I am thinking about converting my wasted spark cosworth YB into coil on pug conversation using Toyoat Yaris coils.

Can anyone advise me which coil to get and is there any drilling/tapping involved.

You can see the cam trigger on the back of the rocker cover. MK also made me up some stainless bolts that bolt in to the head and then a cap head bolt bolts the coils down to that, it is nicer than just a spacer.
The thread above is very good.

if you are running aftermarket ecu it is worth considering if you want to do away with the distributor altogether and then plug it, you can then put a cam trigger on the back of the rocker cover. I also have a lot of the parts to do this conversion as I ended up with 1 spare set.

you can see the stainless bolts in the bottom pic and also the distributor blank that has a bearing in it as the oil pump drive still runs off it.

Thanks Caddyshack.

The car does not have a distributor and is currently on a Emerald K6 ECU and has a Cam sensor at the back of the rocker cover.

Problem seems to be that when I have come to put the car on the rolling road the ECU is being deemed as Crap basically. No protection for the engine and numerous other issues.

I am thinking of going for a Syvec ECU now and was advised to get a coil on conversion at the same time thus asking which coil on plugs people advise me to buy.

I would travel and get Dave walker to set it up, he owns emerald and will set it up well.
