Escort mk6 1.8 Ghia: 105 or 113bhp?
Hello all, Is there any way to tell if a 1.8 engine from an S reg Escort Ghia X is a 105 or 113bhp engine? I'm looking at a 55,000 mile ghia engine as a potential replacement for the 120,000 mile engine in my GTI escort.

Isn't there usually a sticker on the cambelt cover?

It's the Ford technical information service, you need to register to view it though - easier just to go into your local Ford dealer with reg and vin to find out.

Haven't seen that before and tons of useful info, brilliant! More to the point tells me the ghia 1.8 is 115ps, the same engine as the GTi, so at less than half the mileage it's a perfect replacement. Much obliged gents!
