Default Fusion Rear End Jumping To The Right

My Mrs 2002 1.4 petrol Fusion developed a problem a few months back with the rear end bouncing out to the right even when hitting small bumps but especially dangerous hitting bumps on left hand corners. Both shocks were replaced in the last 2 years and can't see any leaking, I also can't see anything wrong with the rear springs.
Is there a known cause of this?
I've even changed the wheels to see if there was a difference but no.

I would get a 4 wheel alignment checked, preferably by someone who can look at the shocks, bushes and springs for movement and wear...probably an MOT equipped place.

Sounds scary!

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah bloody scary, I haven't had chance to have a proper look just a glance, it did go through an MOT like it though, I was hoping they would have picked up on something.

Needs sorting or your pf username will be very apt. You would hope an mot would pick up on springs, shocks, bushes etc.

Don’t rule out something moving on the front, even an angina mount, it can all have an effect.

Could even be a dodgy tyre carcass

What tyres are on it? I had uniroyal rainsports on the back of my old st, they were lethal as the sidewall is so soft on them it made the back end feel really loose.

Check the axle bushes, they perish.

Would an MOT pick that up?

It does sound like a bush or something moving, doesn't it!

Cheers, I'll try and have a proper look sometime, hopefully after I sort out my Focus.

It is a shame you are so far away as you could have popped it on my ramps and we could have taken a look. I am near Guildford in surrey if you travel this way at all?

Appreciate the offer but miles away. Haven't even got time to get under it at home at the moment.

I've done the rear axle bush on the driver's side but now I've gone to the passenger side I've undone the nut from the bolt going through the bush but can't remove the bolt as the petrol tank is in the way. I've tried moving the bush to get the bolt to point downward to allow me the room but no luck.
Any ideas?

Seem to remember having to drop the bracket off the body on one side.

Yep, I saw it when I went back and had a look.
3 bolts, drop the bracket down and loads easier. Wish I'd noticed on the other side.
