So no advances to mention. Still no change so I'm thinking I either remove wiring that's not going to be needed or should I look for a new ECU Set?

Dod IRL 03-01-2017 09:38 PM

Any ideas guys?

I don't think chopping into the loom blind is going to help you. When I post up pin outs it's still 50/50 people that can get there head around it.

As I've said, using the full loom is not the way I would go due to the very involved Gems Ecu, the weight of all that wiring you don't need and it won't fit your escort anyway.

Before giving up, look into the costs of going aftermarket. Car loom, engine loom, aftermarket ecu and mapping is going to set you back shit loads. My guess would be £1500+

I hear you pal and thanks for the help until now. I'm gonna go through everything again and if I can get a cheap handy spare ECU set I'll try that but otherwise I'm gonna skip the lot and try another route.

big_wasa 04-01-2017 07:55 PM

Did you take the key and ecu from the same running car ?

If yes I doubt there is a fault with the one you have.

If your skipping it, send it my way.

Bit of distance between you and me though....

big_wasa 05-01-2017 10:02 AM

Ah but thats why there is a postman.

Give me a week or two, I am just finishing up the Rs loom and I will try and get some better photos of what is needed.

Ok, if it falls on it's arse, I'll give you the entire look, ECU, clocks the lot FOC if you cover the postage. Maybe it could benifit you or someone else. Id offer the entire engine but shipping could cost £100 or more.

I bought a set of Rs clocks for my project last summer and powering them up alone doesn't show the milage. So I got around to adding the dash loom to my ecu test loom today.

No ecu feed.

With ecu feed.

Attachment 13297

And I was pleased to find the advertised milage even if the screen had to be changed due to damage.
