Default 2.0 zetec turbo pressurising coolant

Fully forged and block and head was skimmed slightly before build, only thing i can think of is head gasket but cant understand why it would go when both faces are perfect.

I used the focus rs multi layer head gasket which was a good make, no oil/water mix but when the cap is taken off it does stink but cant describe the smell.

Any help or ideas appreatiated

Was the head pressure tested? Is it a fresh build conversion?

Try and get a sniff test done to see if exhaust gas is present in the coolant.

Ill do that mate, Do you think its worth a quick compression test aswell?

spoke to the engine builders and they said the head was pressure tested, but just a bit concerned now as a head gasket leaking on 2 brand new skimmed faces seems really unusual

Default turbo

make sure your turbo core isnt pressurising the coolant[can bypass/link the turbo hoses for a short period and not be hard on it]
assuming you have a watercooled turbo
