Hope someone can help me here
2001 FF 1.8 TDCi 160K km. Been running great for last 2 years. Suddenly today, after washing the car, has very low power and the engine will not run much over 3000 rpm. Tried several short test trips and the issue seems to be getting worse...less power each time.

Did see some black smoke when wife drove car. I noticed blue smoke when I ran the engine, at standstill, to 3000 rpm. Seems to idle okay, maybe a little rougher than normal starting. No knocking or pinging as far as I can tell.

I did notice a very slight fluctuation in power while driving at about 50 km/h the other day...very slight though and did not think too much about it.

No engine warning/glow plug light - so I guess that means there is no fault code?

I tried the trip meter button trick to find fault codes...dtc flashes with 9318...but the battery seems okay. There are a bunch of other codes that come up if I keep pressing the button, 000, 03C.o, 0000, 017.t and about 20 others before gage is displayed. No idea if these are fault codes.

From looking at the forums for similar symptoms most people point to:

blocked or leaking fuel fliter (I changed it about 2 yrs ago)
Dirty air filter (just looked at it and it seems fine)
Stuck EGR (have never looked at this)
Broken turbo
More serious injector problems

Does anyone have any ideas or additional checks I can perform?? Thanks very much in advance!
