Light Steering

Very light steering when driving over 50mph, changed tyres to Dunlop sp1 v rated, ( directional ones ), all shocks changed, complete set of poly bushes fitted. The car is RS2000 4x4 ( MKVI), did wonder if wrong fluid been put in for power steering ?, no noises, clunks or anything else. This seems odd, taken into two garages and they say nothing wrong..... any ideas.

Once had to change the power steering pump on a rover because it was causing the steering to be too light, must have blown a seal inside the pump. But that was all the time, not at a certain speed.

Valve was what I wondered, thought it might be either inline type or in rack, found out its in the pump and are prone to stick after a few mins, took the car out and its light " steering " now all time, so looks like new pump. Thanks for help.
