Default 2.0 dohc engine convert to carb

does anyone know if it is possible, or has anyone converted a dohc engine fitted to later sierra models and others, to run carbs. the only reason i would like to know is the plenum sits very close to the bonnet not allowing a strut brace to be fitted. is there another way to run injection on them without the large plenum, ie a different plenum with less height. could just not fit brace but want to explore all options first.

DOHC converted to run a carb?

really?

yes ford put them in sierras and sold shitloads of them

they are non-injected sierras without holes in the head and port shapes changed as they had no injectors

easy peasy!

here you go fella
8v engine Specifications

Two valves per cylinder with hydraulic valve lifters
Twin camshafts driving by a timing chain
Stroke and bore were both 86 mm (3.4 in)
Compression was 10.3:1 (Later versions of the 8V DOHC were 9.8:1)
Five main crankshaft bearings

N8A

Carbureted
Power: 107 hp (80 kW) at 5600 rpm.
Torque: 174 N·m (128 lb·ft) at 3000 rpm.
Redline: 6050 rpm

Will try to find some pictures too.

Sean.

p.s normally find these in low spec estates for some reason?!

a carb hasnt nearly even the same power as an injection set up i would advise getting an engineer to muck up a strut brace to go front and back of the engine this will be a much simpler cheaper option imo
