Over-revving problem KA

Hi,my 2000 Ka has a problem with over-revving, which has got worse the past few days. basically when accelerating the engine can over-rev and take a while to "catch-up" with itself. the problem is much worse when going up hill or accelrating hard. been doing a fair bit of research on the tinterweb, and a lot of posts are reccomending disconnecting the battery for 30 mins, cleaning the ICV and TPS, the first two i'm going to have a crack at today, but i'm worried it might be the clutch slipping, as most of these posts ive read say the problem happens (over revving) when taking the foot of the clutch, whereas mine is definately during acceleration and a couple of times when coming to a stop.

Be intresting to know if anyone else has had the same problem and been able to do anything about it.

Thanks in advance.

If you mean the engine is revving hard during acceleration, but you're not building up speed, then yes the clutch is slipping.

it does build speed up still, just takes a massive amount of revs for it to get anywhere, but like i say, it's pretty much fine at low speeds (no over revving at all in first) and on the flat, just when i want to build up a bit of speed or go up hill is when it gets worse...??

Sounds like the clutch is slipping to me!
