Focus st 2006 bonnet won't open??

Hello,

Went to have the aircon recharged and the bonnet won't open? Key just clicks in the lock sometimes other times it just turns and don't make any noise?

Any ideas on how to get it open?

Cheers

Probably by rippin the grill out and pulling on te cable to open it.

The cable runs from the key behind the badge to a white cylinder?pulling it doesn't do anything?

have you tryed pushing the key in hard they are very **** and do break only other way is to look through the grill follow the cable and you will see white cylinder using long pillers pull off the rubber boot then with a long screw driver push it into the cylinder and turn the key it should work.

Is it a twisting motion on te cable instead of pulling? You twist/turn the key and don't pull a cable.

yer you twist it one way to relese the bonet then the other way to open the lock

Iv exposed the white bit, tried turning it with a screw driver with no luck, perhaps I'm not doing it right? There is quite a lot of movement in it.

Use the screwdriver to apply pressure and then turn it with the key

As above, pull the rubber grommet out with long nose pliers, then push the other end of the cable bit into the lock mechanism with a long screwdriver while turning the key. Very common on the mk2 focus, they are a shit design!

Very poor design, thanks for your replies, I will give it another crack tomorrow
