Hi all - would appreciate any thoughts or shared experiences. Tabatha - I hope you're out there:

Am a Scot in Germany - Cossie has recently had exhaust work, a few months back been ok but noticed a slight knocking noise on fast left turns. Read it may be the prop/axl rubbing on the downpipe? Figured I could get to that issue in due course....HOWEVER

Today on a very cold day ie. -15 ish. 7pm leaving work and car sluggishly started then after 3 mins of driving plumes of what seemed white smoke (pitch black night) kept billowing out the exhaust, even in little smoke rings at one point. Didnt really notice an oil smell, but it didnt smell great neither.

Lurched her back to car park slugglishly and am awaiting your thoughts/a tow truck.

Remind me why we drive these group B's?

Any thoughts and fast replies might be able to take my mind off throwing a lit match into the fuel tank

my shout is that -15 was a little too cold for the cts and that sent the message for extra fuel to be sent in thus causing car to run like a bag of shit! drain the oil and filter when pos and give it another try! had this happen to me once when I left mine out and it got covered by snow I'll try dig the photo out!

Checked engine bay in daylight and found a little oil on the top of the engine and there were some frosty ice crystals around the coolant screw top - looked like a few ice crystals in the coolant tank too. Hopefully nothing too severe's happened internally.

Only drove it 3 mins maybe, then lurched it back.

It's nothing to do with fuelling, fuel would be black smoke.

Are you sure it wasen't just condensation due to the weather?

Reason it was sluggish to start will be due to temperature.

nah - was definitely smoke. And White I think, not an overpowering oil smell, but smell nonetheless.

Should be in the hands of a mechanic midweek, keep you posted.

I had my engine re bored and just finished wththe engine. Been running on idle for one week. Today accelerated upto 1000rpm. White smoke ring came out what is it...????
