surly with that power it should do more than 135 tho?

its a rs1800 engine with spacer plate, fiesta rs inlet, beige injectors, ofab management, 195chip, stage 2 sierra cosworth turbo, front mount intercooler, uprated rod bolts, vernier pulley's, full stainless, uprated escos fuel pump ....

before i put the sierra turbo on and escos fuel pump i was running a 1.3hcs fuel pump and a escort t3 and i had it rolling roaded at 200bhp and 220ft/lb at 10psi

since i put the new turbo on and made the new bigger downpipe it feels much more powerfull.

top speed does depend on rev limit and power.

shouldn't be that high pal, christian only made 171mph @7200rpm on 350bhp and specially selected ratios in his box.
i'd reckon 135-140 for most would be the limit on a standard box.

i use to get my 200bhp of the clock all the time a few years ago so at least 140 i would say on a s2 box but not a s1 box as ratios different

Running on standard rims with 195/50/15 tyres hitting the limiter at 6250rpm (standard limiter) in 5th you will be doing 141.0mph on standard gear ratios.

The difference made by tyre/wheel size at 6250rpm =

205/45/16 = 144.6mph
205/40/17 = 145.8mph

With my 230bhp lump i managed to to hit 6500rpm in 5th on standard rims which should 146.6mph based on gear ratios and tyre size.

Data calculations below...

Gearbox:- Series 2
Gear Ratios:- 3.15 1.91 1.28 0.95 0.76 Final drive 3.82
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Top Gear gives 22.563 MPH/1000 RPM and a top speed of 141.019 MPH at 6250 RPM

Engine speeds in top gear:-
30 MPH = 1330 RPM 40 MPH = 1773 RPM 50 MPH = 2216 RPM 60 MPH = 2659 RPM
70 MPH = 3102 RPM 80 MPH = 3546 RPM 90 MPH = 3989 RPM 100 MPH = 4432 RPM

Top Speed in 1 gear = 34.024 MPH
And changes into 2 gear at 3790 RPM dropping 2460 RPM
Top Speed in 2 gear = 56.112 MPH
And changes into 3 gear at 4188 RPM dropping 2062 RPM
Top Speed in 3 gear = 83.730 MPH
And changes into 4 gear at 4639 RPM dropping 1611 RPM
Top Speed in 4 gear = 112.815 MPH
And changes into 5 gear at 5000 RPM dropping 1250 RPM
Top Speed in 5 gear = 141.019 MPH
************************************************** ****************************************
Gearbox:- Series 2
Gear Ratios:- 3.15 1.91 1.28 0.95 0.76 Final drive 3.82

And changes into 3 gear at 4188 RPM dropping 2062 RPM

The LSDs of S1 and S2 do swap over, but the crown wheels are held by a different bolt pattern which means that the LSD or crown wheel bolt pattern has to be redone.

Gearbox's dont have Topspeeds just ratios. You would need to know wheel size, tyre ratio, Topgear ratio & Diff ratio. This will be limited by the rev limiter or peak power of the engine.
eg. My car running on 205/50/15 tyres is rev limited (8.3k) to 193.6mph change to 225/40/19 & the rev limit is 218.9mph all on the same box/diff.
You also need the Power to pull to the limiter.
