Default 2wd oil pump and pickup in a 4wd?

As per title, can you use a 2wd pump and pick up on a 4wd?

Good evening
I don't think that you can use a 2wd oil pump with a 4wd sump on the 4wd sump you have a return pipe just below the kidney box and it touch the 2wd pick-up
I have personally try without succes
Sorry for my English I come from Belgium

just a question why o you want to use a 2wd oil pump and pick_up ?

Hi, thanks for the info. I bought a 2wd engine to use in my 4x4 Mk1 Cortina project. I have swapped everything needed to use for 4x4 set up.

You can eventually find a 4wd oil pump or another parts to RS specialist
ask Pete h
You can find good second hand parts to him at a good prices
