rs turbo 88

helo i have an 88 escort rs turbo. the other day i broke down due to flooding of engine caused by injector, i did replace the injector that was spaying out petrol and it was ok for 5mins and then went back to spraying out of engine in doing so flooding it any ideas ty?

Check wiring for a short with ground.

It's will be MFI, maybe faulty injector, they open at a predetermined pressure and then close below this limit, sounds like yours staying open, if permantly open you may be able to smell petrol when the car is off as fuel will drip into the inlet manifold.

maybe a metering unit fault, as said they only open at a certain pressure and close when this drops, there is no other control over the injector.

thanks for reply, think it is metering unit its spraying 2 meters out of the bore onto floor thought it might be fuel pressure regulator but seems to be working,i disconnected all of the wires to the mfi unit from the mfi ecu and was stil spraying shit loads of fuel.
