Default Found oil leak! MORE questions raised.

The oil leak on my ZVH was coming from the rear of the block where someone had drilled a hole for the oil breather and glued in some sort of old hose fitting, which obviously didn't hold.

My question is what do I do to secure a fitting on there properly as there is no thread? The hole is 11mm in diameter, what size tap would I need to use to put a thread in this? I don't fancy drilling the hole to 18mm due to it being in situ and don't want loads of swarf in my block. Any help is much appreciated, I WILL get this car on the road!!!

to be honest i'd be droppin gsump pan off and then you cna drill safely and make sure swarf won't get around engine.
then find a fitting and drill hole accordingly.

I would use a tapered fitting, then just bang it in there, if you can't find a suitable fitting pm me and I'll machine one for you if given the dimensions etc.

Thanks Tabetha, I think I will remove the sump and do it properly.
Is removing the sump on the ZVH a straight forward job or a mare. I know I will need to remove the starter and exhaust but how do I get to the end bolts at the gearbox end?

Thanks again.

Mitch.
