Escos wiring faults.+ boost/ misfire prob
hi,
Have a few wiring issues on my Escort, basically i havent had the car that long, and when i bought it the dash lights (clocks and boost guages etc) would not illuminate, the seller did say that the fuse box was going sour.
so the car was (or wasnt!) doing the following,
No clocks illuminating, no warning buzzer if lights left on, and the battery light glowed dimly when braking. battery discharging.
the general dash lights, switches etc all operate ok, interior lights all fine etc.
So today i have fitted a brand new battery, brand new fuse box.
i still have the same problems, but i now get intermittant illumination of the clocks, when they do come on they appear "stained"??
sounds like mainly earthing faults to me, but any prime suspects??
secondly, the car seems to be missing slightly at high revs but only in 3rd gear upwards, 1st and 2nd it revs cleanly, and pulls like a train, but at 5k rpm, and approx 24 psi, it starts to feel like its missing? cars on uprated fuel pump, T4, 8 greens, iridium plugs etc max boost approx 28psi, live mapped by Msd.
Any ideas folks?? as for the elec things, if its a dead end, anyone reccomend a quality auto sparky in the Leicester/ Midlands area?
Cheers Chris
