hi it has no knock sensor ive just checked any body help me please

martysmartie 09-11-2009 01:03 PM

No it doesn't have a knock sensor and it won't be causing this, if you have no spark check the aforementioned CPS, if MFI does not have one then would think it has an electronic ignition module check on the dizzy.

They kinda have a primative knock sensor on some S2's but this wouldn't cause it not to spark. The distributers are quite common to fail, does it have a cable tie around the black plug on it? Failing that it has been known for the green wire from the coil to break and/or earth out which would stop it sparking

can i put a non turbo dizzy on as i have 1 of an xr2

tabetha 09-11-2009 04:42 PM

Yes you can, BUT not permanently, as ignition curve will be wrong, but it will certainly be ok to see if that is the problem, and use gently till get correct one, probably has more retard once on boost than a std one.
