ok, during my restoration, my VIN tag seems to have gone walkies somewhere in the garage :cry:

incase it doesnt turn up, im making plans to have a new 1 stamped up, but lacking some info as i dont have the old 1 for reference

iv found some old car pics and got a bit of info, so have the type approval number, chassis number, steering, and engine codes

the rest in the pics is covered by random tools, so missing the following codes:

trasmission
axle
trim

as stated its an '88 popular model, 1.3 ohv engine

any pics that google throws up are either older escorts or xr/rs models, which dnt have the same spec as mine, so the codes arent correct

anybody got any helpful links, pics of their own popular, or any possibly answers to help my cause?

also, the car has been resprayed in mallard green as opposed to the standard rosso red it left the factory with, so what code should i put for the colour?

go to a ford dealer with ur log book and u can have a new one stamped for £52 but they only have the basic details

went to ford, quoted a LOT more than 52quid for a replacement sadly, and that was through a mate who works at the dealership, so not just bullshit to deter my interest. plus i dnt fancy paying 52quid, or any other obscene amount, when a blank costs a couple of quid lol

my mate is providing me with a blank VIN to have stamped up, just need the details noted above, plus the weights in all categories which i forgot to mention
