sierra v8 clutch

a question about my conversion.

i was wondering if anyone could tell me how thick the pressure plate on the 2wd sierra cosworth cluch is from the flywheel to the clutch fingers?
The reson i ask is ive fitted a 4.0 rover v8 in a saff and im useing a T5 gearbox and intend to use a hydrolic release bearing but it seems the v8 cluch plate is thinner so they dont meet up, so i need to know how thick a spacer i need to make.

thanks for the help!

I can try and borrow/measure roosie's pressure plate, if he has one yet as he was having problems getting the one he wanted, and do a measure, I'll post it up if I can.
I used the R380 box, or LT77, can't remember now when I did a V8 4L in a 3 door, kept it hydraulic clutch though using sherpa V8 and mgbgt cylinders.

cheers mate i did run an lt77 for a bit but the ratios were a bit short an the box was not in the best condition, when i checked last they were rather expensive to rebuild and not as good as the t5 etc..

I find the LT77 or R380 frustrating, as it doesn't do quick on the gearchanges, last rebuild was £300 or there abouts.
My T5 needs a rebuild but looking to use another box.

I had my clutch redone by a specialist Jim Berry at Race Clutch, he did Aussie RS500's and could quote all the required pressures and comparative specs on cosworth and other clutches. I suggest you call Jim even though he is in Australia It would be worth it. You might find another guy like him in the UK.
His number is +61738479999, mobile +61419727623, remember to allow for the time zone difference, I think you would ring him early in the morning.

i got quoted about £700! a while back for an lt77 rebuild but i wouldent have botherd when the t5 so much better, i was considering a mr gasket auto box from the states. then i realised im not an american!

I have a ZF4HP22, with 24 components, sat in my garage with V8 rover bell housing on it.
Previously a rangey box now converted to 2wd with a bmw 850 tail end, also it is modded with shift convertor, uprated stall, built by John LOvegrove of ATP Transmissions in Bristol, eveything there if interested.
This came from a xr4i, and will handle all day long what the rover can throw at it.
