outside handle bust with child lock on B***ock's
 

My mate has a mk7 escort 5 door, the child lock was on n the outside door handle broke as i tried too open it:poke: so now his doin his best to make me feel bad :wall:

n e one got n e suggestions on how i can get the door open, the inside handle did work when the childlock wasn't on n i've tried to slip a thin ruler between the door seal to push the child lock button over but is like finding a needle in a haystack, n e suggestions would be much appreciated cheer's

Open the other door to see where the child lock is, at least that will give you an idea of where to poke :cry:

cheer's mate but i did try that i think the way it bend's round between the door n the wheel arch makes it harder to catch the latch i spent about an hour or so wigglin a really thin n flexible ruler in the door, so it wasn't half hearted, cheer's

roll down the window and pull off the wether strips off you may now be able to see the rod from the outside handle that goes to the latch see if you squeeze your hand inside to move the rod or put some thing in there to operate the rod. if that don't work you may have to bust the door card off and open it from inside i had to do this with my mates nissan pulsar and managed to pull the door card off from the top with out causing that much damage. failing that fill in the door handles put some 3 door front seats in it happy day it's now a 3 door!!!!!!!!

Weld both rear doors shut, your mate now has a 3 door escort :cry::cry:

i'd suggest using a crowbar, or hammer and chisel :cry:

you can get the door card off with the door shut and without damaging it, its very tricky but can be done!

Fu*k that, that sound'd like too much hard work to me, i'd use a 9" angle grinder, plasma cutter and then go for the crowbar if your still stuck then.... :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Haha! :banana3: Well funny lads yea good suggestion's i love to hate 5 door's aswell so would be my option n i'v some 3 door seat's he can have lol i'd be doin him a favour, but unfortunatly, he's a plain jane so he wants his forth door back:gayfight:

i'v just remembered that the rear windows don't drop all the way down so how hard would the weather strip be to take off with the window still against it,

other than that it looks like i'm gunna be doin alot of swearing with a scerwdriver n a door card :shtf:might just go to the scrappy n find him a rear door card n just angle grind a service hatch in the old one:king: lol would be easier,

where the handle is broken there is a square slot if u get a torch and look in the hole u should see a metal tag push it up or down cant remember which the door will open

hi there i have had to deal with this problem aswell in the end i had to snap the handle off once done you have a hole put a screwdriver in and pus the silver pin down to open but as you do this have someone pushing door from inside otherwise the door will not open
