Electrical fault (T25)

First major headache with the Esc Cos

A fault with the ECU/electrics somewhere. Causes the car to run on 3 cylinders intermitently.

Going into Ford on Wednesday, but anyone had similar problems that could point me in the right direction? Its the first Escort cosworth that my local Ford have had in which doesn't inspire confidence but the car can't really be driven far at the mo'

I wouldn't give it to Ford dealership...

But one idea is -> I had problem with missfiring recently - it happened to be dramatically dirty plugs in the ECU.

No choice mate, the closest tuner which can diagnose the fault is 30 miles away. Don't fancy driving up the motorway for 30 miles on 3 cylinders. If the garage its in can't find it beleive me no other small garage in the area will be able to :wall:

Here I would just tow it but where you are it's probably not an option... well... - Maybe Stu or somebody can help. But there is lot's of things to try. Ignition coils, cables (the two short ones from the coils), EDIS module multiplug, ECU plug, you could try checking all kinds of plugs in there. I wouldn't trust my car to most Ford dealerships, but if you have no choice....

have you tryed pulling plug leads off one at a time to see if its definitly running on 3 and not just ruff by doing this you can identifi which plug / injector is at fault :top:

This is quite hard of Small turbo Escos as it runs individual ignition coils.

Going to leave it to the experts. A fellow RSOC member is going to bring down his trailer so that the car can be transported to the nearest tuning company and the problem can be professionally rectified. Just don't have the time or the expertise myself
