rst managment problem
ok, so, its a turbo'd ka, on frst managment, not sure if its OFAB or OFAC, dont know anything about it managment wise really, but have found something suspicious.
its got a superchip on the ecu, but then has also got a remapable dastek unichip on it, but why on earth would something need both? i was always under the impression that these unichips were just piggy back ecu's and if unplugged it the car would just return to running on the standard map, i tried unplugging the unichip earlier and it wouldnt run at all. here are a couple of pics of what its like now, far from some of the neatest wiring in the world.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...cture100-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...cture101-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...cture102-1.jpg so how do i tell if its OFAB or OFAC? and why would it have 2 chips on it? |
Need to get some clearer pics mate
and you need to take the ECU out and it will have it stamped on it :) |
Which ECU is that? The RST one or the Ka one? most of the conversions still leave the Ka ecu in place.

Good lord, who installed that lot!
Unichip cant bypass boost limits so they often need a chip too. Which kind of nagates the point IMO. |
right, i'v just got in touch with the guy at powercrazy motorsport that built the car and used it for over a year as his daily driver, when he built it it only had the superchip on it and made 220bhp, it was mapped by ahmed bayjoo, and was running 13.1 second quarters :O
however....he then sold it to a young lad, who fuked about with it a lot, and not in a good way, different filters, whanged the boost right up, and had the unichip put on it, which made it run like a bag of nails apparently, although its running better now its still not quite right, hence me delving deeper into it. so, first things first, fucking the unichip off and having it mapped propperly. stu you have a pm :) |
