:( 1st time since april it's let me down.

got fuel to rail (can hear pump as well), got good spark. what next? ecu borked? turns over, won't catch. although it did catch a couple of times when it was being looked at by recovery guy last night, but died after 20 seconds. Also started when I tried it today 1st time, but died after about 5 secs. :?

ECUs rarely break. Have you got injector switching? How did you check you have spark?

think the recovery guy did it by getting the plug out and leaning it on something. I was in the car turning it over.

what makes the injectors switch, and how can I test it?

Use a Bosch 2 pin NOID light or an LED test light. Crank the engine and the light should flash.

across the injector contacts?

should I be able to blow into the fuel reg?
