cossi 4x4 won't start.

started car after a week sitting in the rain, warmed up and took for a spin, under load coughed and splutterd, eventualy a few quick burst and cleared it self of the missfire. Next day same thing but missfire did not go away, noticed rev counter going loopy and temp creeping up, stopped. checked plugs re-gaped cleaned . took for an other spin still coughing and rev counter going loopy. stopped turned off cleaned dissi cap , checked leads, Will Not Start Now. towed home...... Noticed no spark at all , swapped coil over, still no spark. Any sugestions will be much appriciated. This happed a couple of mounths ago and thought it was the plug gap, Stage three etc ussual problem, seemed to be ok since even after going to stage five a mounth ago. is there a reley or something between ignition and coil. Cheers Andy.

Have u checked the condition of the phase sensor in the dizzy make sure the 2 wires r in good condition.

ignition amp which is bolted on inner wing could be your problem or the crank sensor also!

Thanks for the help. Have checked the phase sensor in dizzi cap and the wires look new as well as the sensor itself. Could you tell me were exactly the ignition amp is located on the 4x4, and are there any checks i can carry out to tell if faulty. Cheers Andy.

just remembered you should also check the plugs on the loom by the bulk head for corrosion!
