Great site with loads of info on there. You can keep the rs2000 lump and use bike bodies.
Its been done loads with good results

thanks mark, not long had this rs, suffering from idle problems, done all normal things, my idea was to fit the bike carbs to my rs engine, to get it running better, but im looking at upgrading the bhp at a later date and thought the easiest way would be to fit the focus 170 with perhaps a pair of better cams etc. forgot to say it's 4x4.

Check the wiring to the coil packs as they ALL deteriorate and cause all sorts of running probs.
move the wires whilst its running and listen for a change. Quite often causes the car to run on 2 cyclinders. I'd consider replacing it either way as it will cause problems sooner or later.
