misfiring one cylinder 3dr Sierra cossie
just got my 3dr from the Uk and its misfiring on #3 cylinder. I've sent the injectors out to be checked, is there anything else I should be looking at ?
Its got a new set of leads fitted and a good spark present.
Just looking for a few ideas to get me started.
Thanks all
Keith

If it's running fine ok otherwise then I woulden't say so, if you have the correct mixture and spark and it's still not right I would say that cylinder has lack of compression, or are you sure coolant is not entering that cylinder?
i.e. blown HG or cracked head, hopefully it will be one of the former and so simple to sort.

I should elaborate perhaps, there is NO actual ignition on # 3 cylinder but there is a spark.
And there is fuel in the oil.
Compression was measured at 140 on each cylinder, but i didnt actually see them do it so only have their word on that.
Hope that explains it a bit better.
Cheers

latest update.
Still not on the road
Found the regulator on the injectors stuffed, fixed that and did the injectors and running much better. Then the turbo blew its seals on the morning of the pits inspection.
Will have new turbo next week then I can start again getting it registered. I've now owned it nearly 7 months and driven it 3 km's.

I should have updated this long ago !
Car is on the road as of about late january.
The injectors were partly blocked, but the main prob was the fuel pressure reg.
Once that was sorted the car ran fine.
All the mechanical work has basically been completed, including a new alternator which failed on the day of the pits inspection, just like the turbo did !!
I intend to fit a new 6 plate clutch as I have no idea of the condition of the existing clutch and distances are so big here in WA that a 100 km trip could mean passing through maybe one small village and a couple of petrol stations.
I need it to be reliable so the clutch will be done soon.
I have the wheels off and being refurbished, should be back this coming saturday and I'm having them shod with Toyo Proxes R888's so it will be OK for the track and road.
Thats it, up to date.
Cheers Keith

i forgot to ask, did your 3dr soak any of the plugs while you had this problem?? although seem to clear when driven above 2-3000rpm but if you change gear let it drop rev it will splutter again like before
