Kelsey Media Show Input !!!!!!
I really need your honest feedback guys on how you feel the shows have gone so far this year ALL kelsey media operated ones such as
CLASSIC FORD = Ok ish
FORD INTERNATIONAL SHOW = Flop
LONDON/BRIGHTON RUN = Flop
FORD FAIR = Shambles
FORD FEST = ?
I have seen how the new booking system has effected us as well as many other clubs I have spoken too, as it does not cater for people that missed the deadline (their fault I know) nor those that are not computer savvy, based on past years we will cut down by 50% at least this years ford fair and I spoke to 4 other club organisers who fear their clubs will actually be lower than that and may not bother next year
other complaints are now the ticket system is only via email but yet there is a £2 booking fee per order, so its causing extra aggro for many to even print tickets out yet kelsey are simply making proffit and we are now using our own resources to print tickets
reports of the international ford show were terrible saying it was dead which is why I saw many that were booked for the whole weekend turn up at beaulieu on the sunday saying thank god they had that event as a back up to save the weekend
then last weekends london/brighton run which ended up at brighton racecourse not even the sea front with a hefty taking part price tag of approx £60 per car, simple visitor entry on the day was way cheaper but it was still a static event with NO wow factor
ford fair and ford fest are not far away so simply add your input to this thread good or bad

I know Jay as you can lead a horse to water and all that, the dynamic of shows like ford fair has changed as it more focus fair than ford, but with new owners/drivers influx into the ford scene is what they want but leave people like us with diverse array of fords thinking sod that as its too model specific

I will rant about the new system in a constructive manner
It's a business and if they can not only make free money but also make you pay for their free money they will do so
If they were selling tickets and then posting them I would not begrudge the £2 fee, but as I now have to print them and they may not appear in my inbox until Friday when it might be too late to make any noise about things going wrong I'm simply going to turn up at the gate and refuse to leave
Tickets have always been an issue but rather than making things easier it would appear that they have taken a stick, attached a pineapple to the end and told us to stick it where the sun doesn't shine
I don't go for the show now, I go to meet all the weirdos that I know from the interwebs, it's like a glorified pub meet where I can't drink and have to spend at least £100 to attend
And then there is the price of food, if they halved the price I would buy it, but it's far FAR cheaper to go to Tesco the day before and buy some sandwiches, ice cubes, freezer box and stick it in the boot than pay £6 for a burger, or an extra £1 for a slice of cheese on top

I'm Finding My Feet Here Now
Most important for me is:
Get all tickets and paperwork out in time.
Not everyone lives in the UK so it can take a while to get it.
(Royal Snail can take up to a week to deliver to The Netherlands...)
It`s quite frustrating to drive 700 km and not having your tickets.
Also, lower the prices for food and beverages to a more normal level.
6 quid for a burger is just outrageous.
Also, do give a map with the tickets, as some places are not easy to find.
(the briefing room for instance, not very clear which building it is for a newcomer)

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Classic Ford seemed a bit quieter this year, the jet car only ran once which was a shame considering the Retro show had it run twice and that's are quieter smaller show. I dunno if the organisers of the shows have any input on this?
Self printing the tickets is a real annoyance to me after paying booking fees.

staggered entry times might ease the congestion, but you have no actual clear markings as to where to go with folks cutting in left right and centre depending on how important they think they are
if they were segregated from the start it would be so much easier than going in via 3 lanes, then each lane splitting up into 4 lanes, then back to 2 and then one

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Steve I've organised our groups tickets for this year and ford fair has by far been the biggest pain in the arse.
Some if the fuckers in our group haven't helped either mind but
the July 1st cut off has been a pain because
some people don't/can't plan that far ahead
People aren't sure what car they're taking but have to commit
We have new members that have joined our group after the cut off and can't come
The two quid booking fee is a rip, I've ordered three lots of tickets and had to pay the 6 quid myself, I'll be printing off 50 bits of paper at home as well
The tickets should be emailed out 2 weeks before the event
Anybody organising/booking a club stand should receive an email from Kelsey if any additional people are booking on that stand just to keep the strays away
We have people on holiday that wont be about when the tickets are emailed, everyone will be at work through the week so I'll have to print everything off and have a couple of days to make sure everyone has their tickets, some are travelling the day before and stopping over and some are travelling down on the day...

exactly what I have found^, the fact that no tickets or passes are actually being sent by mail but they still want their £2 per booking is naughty, futures last year in charge of ford fair back in 2014 saw a nice introduction of rear view hanging mirror passes and free stickers as well as actual in your hand tickets, so far kelsey have scrapped the lot and put prices up in my humble opinion its a sure way to ruin something that was working and the reason for all of this is = GREED

I agree, the first time I did a track session at ford fair I naively booked the first session in the morning and due to the traffic jam into the place I was running late for the track briefing and I hadn't a bloody clue where I had to go for it and every clown in a high vis vest I asked didn't know either which didn't help lol.

Also what annoyed me was my first track session a mk1 escort broke down within 2-3 laps and that was us all chucked off and not allowed on later on to make up for it.

Session cancelled. Fuck all back to the poor people who literally were allowed to coast around the rest of the lap back to the pits.
I would have been FUMING.

The food situation at silverstone and pod is dire. But there are ways round it. At silverstone go in the paddock cafe for a big breakfast. About 8 quid I think?. Does you for the rest of the day usually. At pod go in there cafe and do the same.

If the tickets are no longer being posted out then it's only right they should refund this cost.
Also the printing of tickets could be a pain as i will probably be over at my Mrs's place and she has no internet let alone a printer.
The whole booking system has been designed to rip off the punters that make Kelsey so much money in the first place.

Pod has definitely got a good bit dearer this year, still not quite to the same level off robbery that is Silverstone, previous years I always found Pod prices bearable.

food pricing kelsey dont manage and tbh we all know how silly their pricing is at any venue and made worse on bans on bbqs at silverstone has never helped ford fair, but I can understand it as some bafoon is bound to catch grass alight with a stray aflamed sausage .

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
Kelsey is very frustrating been to ford fair last 4 years on this stand (passionford) and now I've got to go on an individual display (which I've rang 3 times and nobody can tell me where this individual stand is located keep telling me to call back as they don't know yet!!) missed the cut off date of 1st July (my fault I know) but as mentioned it's like trying to get blood out of a stone and as for seeing there are no mirror passes is crap I've got a decent collection just won't be the same this year I don't think got 2 cars 4 people I'm toying with sacking it off if I don't get a straight answer next couple of days!!

I found my confirmation email so I'll be taking that, I suggest we all do the same as it's got a bar code on it they can scan and it shows how many tickets you've purchased
With all the methods of doing stuff nowadays, why they have decided to complicate matters is beyond me
Technology should have made this a walk in the park but it's turned into a right cluster muck

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
I have found that the option for people to book direct for their tickets a good idea for some, but the fact there are still some people I have ordered tickets for as they dont do online stuff.
But agree that a week to go they still haven't sent out the tickets be it via email (daft idea) is a joke and the fact they still haven't got a clue where each stand is going to be only hints towards a complete disaster, as without some idea where we are all going, we will be left to the stewards trying to tell everyone where to go

This years booking shambles was a huge ballache for zsoc, one of our main membership selling points is to have your car on stand at events like this, so we did not want to give the password out to any old joe to pass onto his mates to blag a free spot, printing off 40+ tickets & passes was a huge undertaking, it backfired on Kelsey though as we only placed 1 order so only paid a single £2 booking fee.
Kelsey themselves were next to useless, they gave our password out to people not associated with us, their communication over the phone was non existant.
Ford Fair show day seemed different, traffic was appalling we left Upton way travelodge at 7.15 for an 18min journey, it took an 2 & half hours to get in, our tickets wasnt checked, the reg number wasnt checked, the marshalls didnt have a clue about the showground. Just useless organisers
I only go down now to catch up with our members, we have a night out in Northampton on Friday, mong out hungover Saturday & show sunday

Too many non fords too
I spotted a corsa in amongst the blue mk1 focus rs stand, there was an evo8 there, a golf stickered up for some company, a big Audi but to name a few
At this rate it's going to be like classic ford where new cars were let in even though the cut off date was supposed to be 1990

Also, had I known that security was going to be so shambolic I wouldn't have paid, they checked nothing, not my pass, not my ticket, not even my show guide because I simply pointed to my phone expecting it to be scanned and they took me at my word that I was legit

The lack of cossies was crap, ford live at knockhill was packed with nice cossies and Oldskool stuff where as ford fair was all new stuff.
If I go next year it will be on route to the Nurburgring and might stop over for ford fair on the way.
